Dynamic Typeface Manifest: “Could you?”
1. Idea
We turn running into writing. Each letter becomes a segment of the distance. Stroke weight reflects effort and speed, while the typeface’s inner cut‑outs (ink traps) mark moments of acceleration and strain. The text isn’t static: it breathes, speeds up, stumbles at the ‘wall’, and finishes with a sprint.
2. Why
Photos and numbers give only a snapshot. Running is a process. A regular typeface can’t show the endurance curve. Here, the letterform itself becomes a chronicle of the run: you can read the whole race through a stylistic gradient.
3. How it works
During the performance, treadmill and tracker data drive the typeface on screen in real time: running parameters affect the ‘weight’ (wght) and the ink traps. Viewers can wear a fitness tracker, open the ‘Level’ app, and watch their own telemetry become typographic motion — from the first step to the final kick.
